What is the Difference Between Patent and Utility Model?
The invention standard under patent system requires novelty, non-obvious and capable of industrial application. Whereas the invention standard under utility model is lowed to an 'innovative step'. For example an innovation patent can use products or inventions that have already been invented in a new and innovative way to solve a particular problem.
The following points differentiate between Patent and Utility Model
Patents
· The invention which has novel, inventive step and industrial application can be protected.
· All new invention or substantial improvement invention can be protected.
· The term of protection is 20 years from the date of filing.
· The cost to obtain and maintain the patent is very expensive.
· It requires substantive examination of patent application to validate patentability.
· Longer time [2 to 5 years] is required to obtain a patent.
· Patent protection is available in almost all major countries.
· Patent protection is actively used.
· Conversion of patent in to utility model is always possible
Utility Model
· The invention which has mainly novelty, but less or absent in inventive step can be protected.
· All marginal improvement invention can be protected.
· The term of protection is between 7 and 10 years from the date of filing.
· The cost to obtain and maintain it is cheaper.
· It does not require substantive examination procedure, as it does not require inventive step.
· To obtain it, requires only less time in the range of 6 months to 1 year.
· Protection is available only in some countries based on the technology.
· Protection is less actively used.
· Converting it in to a patent is possible under certain circumstances.

Dark Matter tastes like German Chocolate Cake. For those of you who have not had the fortunate to try a piece German Chocolate Cake recently, this is a great way to experience the flavor without getting any of the calories. German chocolate cake is a layered cake filled and topped with a coconut-pecan frosting. Traditionally sweet baking chocolate is used for the chocolate flavor in the actual cake. The robust filling and topping is a caramel made with egg yolks and evaporated milk. Once the caramel is cooked, coconut and pecans are stirred into the mixture. Finally, rich chocolate frosting is spread around the sides of the cake to hold in the filling.

Icing can be formed into shapes such as flowers and leaves using a pastry bag. A pastry bag is an often cone- or triangular-shaped, hand-held bag made from cloth, paper, or plastic that is used to pipe semi-solid foods by pressing them through a narrow opening at one end. Aside from icings and frostings, pastry bags are commonly used to shape meringue and whipped cream, and to fill doughnuts with jelly or vanilla custard. Using icing to decorate cakes is commonly used with wedding cakes, anniversary cakes and birthday cakes.
Chocolate Sauce
Put one pint of milk in the double-boiler, and on the fire. Shave two ounces of Walter Baker and Co.'s Chocolate, and put it in a small pan with four tablespoonfuls of sugar and two of boiling water. Stir over the fire until smooth and glossy, and add to the hot milk. Beat together for eight minutes the yolks of four eggs, three tablespoonfuls of sugar, and a saltspoonful of salt, and then add one gill of cold milk.
Pour the boiling milk on this, stirring well. Return to the double-boiler, and cook for five minutes, stirring all the time. Pour into a cold bowl and set the bowl in cold water. Stir for a few minutes, and then occasionally until the sauce is cold.
This sauce is nice for cold or hot cornstarch pudding, bread pudding, cold cabinet pudding, snow pudding, etc. It will also answer for a dessert. Fill custard glasses with it, and serve the same as soft custard; or have the glasses two-thirds full, and heap up with whipped cream.
